The Leader Within Gaining Self-Insight

How to look inward and better know and understand oneself.

For the next couple of weeks, we will focus on gaining a better understanding of yourself and your characteristics and qualities as a leader. This will involve some assessments and a great deal of self-reflection.

As was mentioned early on, self-awareness is critical to developing as a leader, and the more that we know about ourselves, the better equipped we are to hone our strengths and get insight into areas that require attention and development.

For Development: Use assessments and feedback from trusted others to gain self-insight. We have done, and will do some more, mini-assessments, but you can also explore others (and some suggestions will be provided). Another strategy is to do leader development “in tandem” — working with a peer and working as a source of feedback for each other.
